Paul F. Moon, 90, Vero Beach

Paul F. Moon, 90, of Vero Beach, passed away on Oct. 12, 2015, after a long illness.

He will be dearly missed by his wife of 69 years, Betty (Jackson) Moon; by his son P. David Moon (Pat); his granddaughters Jaclyn Moon and Jessica Moon Martin (Zachary); and by his many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Moon was born on Dec. 26, 1924, to Elmer and Emma (Stratton) Moon. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II, received bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Marshall University, and had a long career in education, including 33 years in the Brevard County school system, serving as principal at Riverview, Apollo, and South Lake Elementary schools.

He was a member of the Vero Beach First Church of the Nazarene, where he served in numerous positions of leadership and service. He was a master woodcrafter and loved reading and travel, but the two things he held dearest were his faith and his family.

The family will receive visitors at 10 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 16, at the Vero Beach First Church of the Nazarene, 1280 27th Avenue, with a service of remembrance and celebration at 11 a.m. Donations in Mr. Moon’s memory may be made to the First Church of the Nazarene. Flowers are being coordinated by Vero Beach Florist. Friends may visit the online guest register book at www.aycock-hillcrest.com.

Arrangements are under the care of Aycock Funeral Home, Fort Pierce.
