Paul Alston Croy, of Sebastian, passed away on Oct. 16, 2015, at Holmes Regional Hospital, Melbourne, Fla.
He is survived by his wife Jane; son Todd; grandson Conrad; step-granddaughter Ashley and great- grandson, Charlie.
He was predeceased by his parents, Paul Alston Croy, Sr. and Sarah Anne (Hunt) Croy.
Croy was born in Charleston, W.Va. He completed his early education in Charleston graduating from Stonewell Jackson High School in 1957. During high school he was a member of the band.
After graduating, Croy was employed by Goodrich Gulf Chemicals in South Charleston before earning his BS degree in Industrial Management from West Virginia Institute of Technology. It was during this time when he met his future wife, Amelia Jane Martin. They were married on June 24, 1961 in Christ Church Methodist, Charleston, W.Va.
He retired from McDonnell-Douglas Aircraft Company (now Boeing) in St. Louis, Mo., after 33 years with the company. He was a Systems Analyst and President of the McDonnell-Douglas Management Club. Paul also participated in Toastmasters.
In 1994, Croy and Jane retired and relocated to Sebastian. They became active members of Sebastian United Methodist Church where Paul served as the church Treasurer, Liturgist, member of the Finance Committee and Administrative Council.
During his retirement years, he worked part-time beginning with Sebastian Municipal Golf Course where he was a member of the Men’s Golf League. Later he was employed at J.C. Penny’s and Dillard’s in Vero Beach.
Croy liked being with and helping people. He was a booster for the GFWC Sebastian Woman’s Club of which his wife, Jane, is a member. He became a Mason after moving to Sebastian. He served as Junior Warden and Secretary/Treasurer of the Sebastian Masonic Lodge 232.
In June 2011, he and Jane celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with family and friends at the GWFC Vero Beach Woman’s Club.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Sebastian United Methodist Church, Sebastian on November 1, 2015 at 2:00 PM.
