INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — The Indian River County Chamber of Commerce celebrated the achievements of local companies at its 18th Annual Industry Appreciation Awards Luncheon at the Indian River State College Richardson Center.
SpringHill Suites by Marriott Vero Beach was honored as the Chamber’s 2015 Medium Company of the Year, based on employment levels.
Atlanta-based Hotel Equities serves as the management company and shares ownership with Vero Beach-based Kite Properties, LLC for the 83-room property. Missy Davis is the General Manager, Amy Selby is the Director of Sales and Talya Shepherd serves as the Operations Manager.
The Chamber’s Company of the Year award recognizes local businesses that stimulate the Indian River County economy, make contributions back to the community, provide quality year-round employment and have an overall positive impact on the county.
SpringHill Suites by Marriott Vero Beach was recognized as the Chamber’s Medium-sized Business of the Year. The hotel opened in 2009 and has 30 employees, generating an estimated $55,300 in annual payroll taxes and $62,800 in property taxes each year.
SpringHill has seen a 23 percent increase in sales over the past year and was recognized with a Gold Circle Award from Marriott for ranking in the top 10 percent of the brand in overall Guest Satisfaction Scores. The hotel hosts a number of non-profit events throughout the year and donates room nights for local fundraisers.
