Ruth Fisher Purdy, 88, of Vero Beach, a former Capitol Hill staffer and long-time resident of Vero Beach, died July 27, 2015, as a result of complications from a fall.
Purdy was born in the Bronx, N.Y., moved to the Washington, D.C. area, and worked on Capitol Hill for many years before retiring to Vero Beach, her home for more than 30 years. Purdy had been active in the community activity board of Vero Palm Estates.
She is survived by her husband, Chester M. Purdy, and three of her five children.
