Indian River County Emergency updates alert system

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Effective immediately, Indian River County Emergency Management is launching an updated emergency alert system called Alert Indian River. This new system allows users the ability to customize the types of alerts they want to receive and how they want to receive them (E-mail, phone, and/or text).

To subscribe, go to www.ircgov.com and click the Alert Indian River button, located towards the bottom left side of the page, to create an account.

Subscribers will be asked to provide contact and location information so alerts can be customized to the location. All information provided will be kept strictly confidential.

To continue receiving important alerts, all current subscribers must subscribe to the new system. The former system is no longer in operation.

Indian River County Emergency Management believes this upgraded system will provide the community with more information in a timelier manner, and urges everyone to subscribe as soon as possible to avoid missing out on any future alerts.
