INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Three businesses in Indian River County have been cited for selling alcohol to people under the age of 21, according to the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office.
Last month, the agency’s School Resource deputies conducted an undercover alcohol compliance operation, visiting more than 25 establishments throughout the county that serve or sell alcohol.
“Our school resource deputies act as a force multiplier during the summer,” said Sheriff Deryl Loar. “With school in recess, we direct them to focus their efforts on youth related crimes and activities that help keep our children safe. We are proud of them for protecting the children of Indian River County all year long.”
The businesses involved include Dom’s Bar and the Harbor Shell gas station in Vero Beach and the Raceway gas station in Sebastian.
Those cited are:
- Alecia Fields, 24, at Dom’s Bar, 1436 Old Dixie Hwy., Vero Beach
- Michael Roberts, 44, at Harbor Shell, 5325 US 1, Vero Beach
- Muhammad Etayem, 23, at Raceway, 9490 108th Ave., Sebastian
Alcohol compliance checks conducted during Spring Break 2015 resulted in similar charges for four individuals. School resource deputies will continue their efforts over the course of the summer before returning to school in the fall.
