Laura Russell, 91, of Sebastian, passed away on June 8, 2015.

She is survived by her three children, Sandra Leavitt (Winston) of Suffield, Gail Campbell (Stephen) of Raleigh, N.C., and Paul Russell (Jane) of Sebastian; her grandchildren, Lisa and Eric Bennett, Cynthia and Matthew Lafond, Rebecca and Allen Clark, Matthew Campbell, Eric and Marion Campbell, David and Jill Russell, Michael Russell, Jennifer and Frederick Albert; her great-grandchildren, Lauren and Jack Lafond, Zachery Clark, Joel Campbell, Nicole and Daniel Russell, Alex Russell, Tyler, Nicholas and Zachary Albert.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Paul Vern Russell.

It is with sadness that we share the passing of our mother, Laura Ruth Russell, but it is with joy that we celebrate her life of 91 years and her many gifts to family and friends.

Born in Suffield, on Nov. 30, 1923 daughter of the late Emmett and Laura (Edwards) Lyman she lived in Suffield most of her life before moving to New Hampshire for 25 years and then Florida for the past seven years. Before retiring, Russell was employed by Hamilton Standard for 18 years. She was a member of D.A.R. and the Red Hats Society. She enjoyed gardening, knitting and crocheting.

The family would like to thank the staff at the VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach for the wonderfully kind, compassionate care given to our mother in her final days, and the compassion shown to all her family at this very difficult time.

Her family will receive friends Monday, June 15, 2015 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Nicholson & Carmon Funeral Home, 443 East St. N. (Rt. 159), Suffield followed by funeral services at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in West Suffield Cemetery, West Suffield.
