Forest Anderson, 81, Sebastian

Forest “Woody” Anderson, 81, of Sebastian, passed away on May 26, 2015.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Joyce; daughters Cheryl Anderson and Robin (Bradley) Boyd; granddaughters Kimberly Boyd and Brittany (Matthew) Goulart; sisters Patricia (Edgar) VanHorn and Helen (Bruce) Day; brother Donald (Beverly) Anderson, Jr.; and numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

“Pray who will entertain the populace when I am gone,” Anderson was born on May 24, 1934 in Rockland, Maine to Donald and Hilda (Foster) Anderson.

He lived in Milford, Conn. for many years, moving to Florida in 1969 and settling in Sebastian in 1994. He was active in Amateur Radio (K4EBK) for 55 years. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Sebastian and had numerous friends in the area.

A natural athlete, Anderson played high school football and baseball, and college football. He was a renowned pitcher in fast pitch softball. He loved his family, reading, sports (Dolphins and Braves), travel, his dog Katie, and golf.

Anderson was an Air Force Veteran and a “Telephone Man.” He worked for the Bell System in Connecticut and Florida for 30 years, retiring as a Senior Engineer. He was beloved by many for his quick wit and generous nature.

He will be sorely missed by all who knew him, especially his family.

The Memorial Service will be held at 4 p.m., Sunday June 7, 2105 at First Presbyterian Church in Sebastian with a reception to follow in the gathering room.
