Emma Mae McCloud, 84, of Vero Beach, passed away on April 27, 2015.
She is lovingly survived by her son Leon McCloud (Verinthia) of Vero Beach; daughters Trudy Dix (George), Elaine McCloud, Ruby Napier (Kenneth) all of Vero Beach, and Angela Johnson of Oklahoma City, Okla.; brothers Marvette “Bobby” Snell (Theresa) of Abberville, Ala., and Lucious Snell of Dothan, Ala.; sister Othell Anthony of Birmingham, Ala.; 23 grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter Ruby Nell Boatwright; brothers Theophilus “Bud” Snell, Jr., Samuel, Lugene, Robert, Jerry and David Snell; and sisters Earline and Aretha Snell and Jeanette Ausby.
McCloud was born in Dothan, Ala., to the late Theophilus and Willie Mae Snell and was educated in the public schools of Houston County, Ala.
She moved to Indian River County 56 years ago from Dothan. She was employed as a laborer in the citrus industry. She was a member of Faith Temple Evangelistic Church in Vero Beach under the leadership of Bishop James Bradley, Sr. There she served faithfully as a church mother, a former usher, usher board advisor and choir member.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 8, 2015 from 4 to 7p.m. at Faith Temple Evangelistic Church in Vero Beach, and a homegoing celebration will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2015, 11 a.m. at the church. She will await the resurrection in Gifford Cemetery, Gifford.
