John Donald Brown, 91, of Vero Beach, passed away on April 28, 2015, at VNA Hospice House.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Margaret; sister Mary Hickey of Hilton Head, S.C.; nephew Joseph and Jane Hickey of Littleton, Colo.; nieces Kathy and Steve Katz of Alexandria, Va., and Mary Beth and Gary Eggers of Manhasset, N.Y.
Brown was born on March 29, 1924, in Brooklyn, N.Y., son of the late Michael and Delia Brown. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served during WWII, and was stationed near the Hawaiian Islands. He was employed for the NY Transit Authority, retiring in 1989. Brown had been a resident of Vero Beach for the last 20 years coming from New York.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Friday, May 8, 2015 in the chapel at St. Helen Catholic Church. Arrangements are entrusted to Cox-Gifford-Seawinds Funeral Home in Vero Beach. An online guest book may be signed at www.coxgiffordseawinds.com.
