Man accused of sexually assaulting teen

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — A 39-year-old man is in jail after a teenage girl reported him for sexual battery that occurred after the defendant coaxed the girl into taking double shots of Jack Daniels, according to his arrest affidavit.

Marshall Escott, 39, was arrested at the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office on Friday and faces one felony charge of sex battery on a child over 12 and under 18. His address was not listed in the booking report.

According to the report, the defendant followed the victim into the bathroom where the victim got sick and passed out, hitting her head on the side of the tub. When she woke up, she realized the defendant was in the process of sexually assaulting her. She screamed and ran for help from another person in the residence.

Escott is being held in the Indian River County Jail in lieu of $150,000 bond.
