Frank Caron, 85, of Vero Beach, passed away on April 25, 2015, at his home.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Durean E. Caron; sons Robert M. Caron, David P. Caron, Timothy W. Caron, Mark A. Caron, and favorite daughter, Brenda D. Perrault; grandchildren Leslie Phieffer, Jessie Caron, Michael Paul Perrault, Bobbie Jen Willingham, Brian Caron, Abi Harbin, Sherry Gay, Heather Caron, Steven Perrault, Lindsey Modert, Ashley Scent, Dana Caron, Carli Caron, Tabitha McNair; and 25 great-grandchildren.
Caron was born Feb. 19, 1930 in Merrimack, N.H., son of the late Gertrude and Henry Caron. He graduated from Magaw High School in 1947. He joined the Navy in 1947, his first assignment was the Berlin Air Lift, he was in the Korean War, and the Vietnam War.
During his career in the Navy, he made Chief and then was commissioned in 1960, retiring after 23 years of service as a Lieutenant. After retiring, he and his cousin David Bigwood formed B & C Development, building custom homes in Merrimack, N.H.
His memberships included VFW, American Legion, Fleet Reserve, Chartered Member of Retired Officers Association, and the NRA.
A Celebration of Frank’s Life will be held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, May 2, 2015 at Cox-Gifford- Seawinds Funeral Home in Vero Beach. Military Honors to follow.
