See you at the fair, March 13 – 22, 2015
Since 1980 our visitors have made the Firefighters’ fair an important part of Indian River County life. We are confident that this year’s event scheduled for March 13th – 22nd will be among the most memorable yet…. as long as Mother Nature cooperates.
As a new era begins here at the fair with me as manager and Steve Graul my assistant, we will continue to provide the citizens of Indian River County with the type of family entertainment they have come to trust for over 35 years. We will continue to provide our fair patrons the best in agriculture, education, livestock, local entertainment, creative crafts & fair food. We want to have the public involved in the fair as much as possible with competitive entries. It might be a Hot Wing Eating contest, the Demolition Derby or the popular Corn Hole tournament. All these added to our existing line up of events like Whip Cracking, Karaoke and our beautiful livestock barn will make for a great fair.
Our attendance of visitors has been up and down over the years whether it is economic conditions or the weather. We continue to attract upwards of 50,000 fairgoers to this event, many of them came as a youth who now return with children of their own as adults. We hope you enjoy strolling into our main exhibit building where vendors and State Statute 616.17 requirements are on display. Maybe see what your neighbor or friend has entered in a competitive exhibit like Canning, Creative Crafts and Baked Goods.
The Firefighters’ Fair offers something for everyone, young and old. Since 1980, proceeds from our event have supported the Indian River County Burn Fund, Local High School Scholarships, Fairground Improvements, other Various Charitable Organizations, and for The Benefit Of Public Safety. The 2015 theme is “Any Direction Leads To Fun.”
We are very proud of our volunteers who work so hard to make this event successful, and our sponsors who provide continuous financial support for our program. I encourage you to take time out and enjoy the many activities that make this fair one of the premier events in our county. Encourage your friends and family to visit so they too might come and experience our “FUN, RIDES, CLEANLINESS, FOOD and FAMILY ATMOSPHERE”.
Sincerely,
Wayne Howard
