Laverne Langfitt, 92, of Vero Beach, passed away on March 27, 2015, at Harbor Chase.
She is survived by her husband of 72 years, David R. Langfitt, Sr. of Vero Beach; sons David R. “Skip” Langfitt, Jr. and John R. Langfitt both of Vero Beach; brother Clyde Lavelle Ergle of Winter Haven, Fla.; sister Juanita MacDonald of Merritt Island, Fla.; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Langfitt was born in Island Grove, Fla., and lived in Vero Beach for 63 years coming from Lakeland, Fla. She was a member of the Community Church, Vero Beach. Langfitt was a member of the Garden Club of Indian River County, Quail Valley River and Golf Club, Vero Beach Yacht Club and the Vero Beach Country Club. She served as a volunteer for Indian River Memorial Hospital Lady’s Auxiliary.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 2, 2015, at the Community Church, Vero Beach. Arrangements are under the direction of Strunk Funeral Home and Crematory, Vero Beach. An online guest book is available at www.strunkfuneralhome.com.
