Authorities respond to shots fired during Vero party

VERO BEACH — Vero Beach Police and the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office responded to shots fired at a party near the Women’s Club in Vero Beach, according to an incident report.

The Women’s Club is in the vicinity of the Main Library and the Indian River County Courthouse.

Around 12:30 a.m. Sunday, Vero Beach Police were en-route to a large disturbance near 1534 21st Street, according to authorities. On their way to the disturbance, dispatch advised them there was a report of gunshots in the area of the disturbance.

Authorities secured the scene, according to police. No one appeared to be injured. Everyone interviewed said the same thing, “I heard gunshots, so I ran,” according to the report. No one provided any information on whether a gun was present or fired.

Four shell casings were found in the parking lot where the disturbance occurred, according to authorities.
