Charles Walker, 88, of Vero Beach, passed away peacefully of natural causes on Jan. 13, 2015.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Dorothy Duncanson Walker.
He is survived by his three children Wendy Walker Megroz (Roger), Carol Walker Baird (Russ), Thomas D. Walker, eight grandchildren, his brother, Thomas A. Walker, his sister Ann W. Whelan and six nieces and nephews. He found love a second time around with Eleanor “Em” Lawes who misses him very much.
He was born in St. Louis, Mo., on April 14, 1926. Besides Vero Beach, he lived in Tiverton, R.I. and Stratton Mountain, Vt. He attended the University of Missouri and graduated from Northwestern and Harvard Business School. He served as an officer in the Navy and was stationed on both coasts. His financial career took him to Merck Pharmaceuticals, Standard Brands, Industrial National Bank, Fleet Bank and Bank of New England. He was a member of The Moorings Yacht and Country Club and Rhode Island Country Club.
