FELLSMERE — Arriving to town aboard a cheerfully lit airboat pulled by a hefty pickup truck, Santa Claus stopped by the Old Fellsmere School to meet with the children and make sure he’s got their wishes correct.
More than a hundred children lined up along the sidewalk outside the school, pointing and cheering as they caught a glimpse of the airboat-sleigh coming down the street.
Each waited until called up to sit next to Santa on his bench, and while most were excited to see the jolly ol’ elf, a few, younger children, shied away.
Children walked away with a little goodie bag containing small toys and a miniature coloring book, plus a piece of local citrus.
The City of Fellsmere’s Beautification Committee also provided hot cocoa and a variety of cookies to all who attended.
