Vero Police seek suspect in interrupted home burglary

VERO BEACH — The Vero Beach Police Department is searching for a man who was interrupted while burglarizing a home on 26th Street Friday morning.

Authorities responded to the home in the 900 block of 26th Street around 11:30 a.m. after the homeowner advised police that upon returning home, he or she “observed a subject ransacking” the home.

The homeowner described the burglar as a white male, standing about 6 feet tall and weighing about 170 pounds. He has short, dark blonde hair, and was wearing a black jacket, blue jeans and dark shoes.

The suspect was carrying a large rectangular black duffle bag and left the area on a dark blue bicycle, according to the police department. The suspect was last seen traveling southbound on Fairway Drive from the residence.

Several personal items and property were stolen from the home, police said.
