Helen Nelson, 88, of Vero Beach, passed away on Dec. 10, 2014.
She is survived by her son Steven B. Nelson of Vero Beach.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Nelson and son, Scott Nelson.
She was born in Minneapolis, Minn., on Jan. 29, 1926, to parents Ingeborg Larsen and Bernhard Ostrom.
Nelson moved to Vero Beach in 1995, coming from Miami.
She was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church and helped often with the church bulletins. She also enjoyed volunteering at Osceola Magnet School.
Nelson was an avid bridge player and loved to read.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, Dec. 15, at Our Savior Lutheran Church.
