UPDATED: More details released in wrong-way crash that killed 2

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Florida Highway Patrol has released more details in the early morning Nov. 29 crash that killed both drivers on State Road 60.

FHP investigators have determined that Abby Lynn Calleja, 40, of Vero Beach, was traveling the wrong direction on SR 60.

Calleja’s 2013 Jeep Cherokee struck a 2007 Dodge Charger, driven by Daniel Warren, 24, of Apopka, at 12:45 a.m.

The crash remains under investigation, according to authorities.


Nov. 29, 7:44 p.m.

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Florida Highway Patrol has identified the two people who died in an early morning head-on crash.

The two who died are Abby Lynn Calleja, 40, of Vero Beach, and Thomas Daniel Warren, 24, of Apopka, according to authorities.

Calleja was driving a 2013 Jeep Cherokee and Warren a 2007 Dodge Charger. Both of them were wearing their seat belts.

Calleja was a Realtor with Treasure Coast Sotheby International Realty from Dec. 2012 to April 2013 according to her Linkedin profile. She was also a territorial sales manager with Philip Morris. She went to the University of Florida from 1993 to 1997 earning a bachelor of science in marketing.

Warren was a member of The Sweet Chariots, according to their facebook page. Their last performance was at the Kilted Mermaid Friday night before the crash.

Information FHP received conflicts with what witnesses stated at the scene, according to authorities. FHP is unable to determine which vehicle was traveling in the wrong direction at this time.

Once confirmation is made the information will be released, FHP said.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation. 


11/29, 8:29 a.m.

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY – A head-on collision between two vehicles overnight on State Road 60 left two people dead, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash happened near Interstate 95 around 1 a.m., according to authorities.

One person died in each car. Their identities have not been released.
