Maureen M. Lynch, Vero Beach

Maureen M. Lynch, of Vero Beach, passed away on Dec. 24, 2014, at Indian River Medical Center.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Joseph Lynch; daughters Aileen Lynch of Attleboro, Mass., and Sheila Lynch of Mahopac, N.Y.; and son, Jerry Lynch of Bronx, N.Y.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Donald Sheehan of Brooklyn, N.Y. and sister, Veronica Kelly of Queens, N.Y.

She was born in New York City to the late John and Margaret Sheehan. Since her retirement 21 years ago, she split her time between Vero Beach and New York.

Lynch worked 20 years for the New York City Board of Education. Over her life, she volunteered her time including an outreach program to the poor of New York City through Lady of Lourdes parish. In addition, she supported several charities.

She was a member of St. Helen Catholic Church, Vero Beach. She was also a member of the Ancient Order Hibernians Auxiliary.

A memorial mass will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, Jan. 2, 2015, at St. Helen Catholic Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Covenant House.
