INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — The Corporate and Community Training Institute at Indian River State College is offering ACT and SAT preparation workshops to provide students planning to take either test with a better understanding of how to complete them more successfully with the best results possible.
The SAT preparation workshop is offered Saturday, Dec. 6, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The ACT preparation workshop will be offered Saturday, Dec. 13, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Both workshops will be at the IRSC Main Campus in Fort Pierce, and the cost for each workshop is $139.
Students completing the SAT workshop will have a better understanding of how to successfully complete the SAT math, critical reading, writing and essay sections. Those who take the ACT workshop will have a better understanding of how to successfully complete the ACT English, math, reading, science and essay sections.
The instructor for both the SAT and ACT preparation workshops will be Lynda Sloan Allen, Academic Coach/Tutor and owner of Make Your Mark in Life. Allen has both a master’s and bachelor’s degree in Exceptional Student Education from the University of Miami, and has been a teacher for more than 30 years. For the past 6-plus years, Allen has empowered hundreds of high school students to achieve entrance exams scores that lead them to the college/career of their choice.
The SAT and ACT preparation workshops will be held at the IRSC Main Campus located at 3200 Virginia Avenue in Fort Pierce.
