Woman arrested after attacking car with screwdriver

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — An Indian River County mother was arrested Thursday morning after allegedly stabbing the windshield of a vehicle occupied by her 4-year-old son and his father.

The victim, Juoaquai Alexander, told police he was picking up his 4-year-old son when his son’s mother, Tiffany Ness, “came out to his vehicle with a large screw driver in hand,” according to the report.

The report continues, “The defendant then allegedly began threatening the victim stating that she was going to kill him and proceeded to stab the vehicle’s windshield with a screwdriver until it broke.”

Alexander’s account was confirmed by the 4-year-old boy who told authorities the same story.

Police observed a small rectangular hole in the windshield but did not recover a screwdriver during investigation.

Police also found less than 20 grams of cannabis on Ness during the booking process.

Ness, 33, of the 8000 block of 105th Court, Vero Beach, faces charges of aggravated assault and domestic violence, possession of less than 20 grams of marijuana, and criminal mischief.

She was released Friday on a $5,000 bond.
