Charles Borgia, of Vero Beach, formerly of Scranton, Penn., passed away on Oct. 25, 2014, at the VNA Hospice House.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Barbara Farrell Borgia; daughter, Raeanne Borgia Cone (Scott); grandchildren, Ella and Brandon Cone; faithful friend and companion, Marley; brothers, Joseph Borgia (Millie), Louis Borgia (Bess), Michael Borgia (Janet), Frank Borgia (Nancy), Sam Borgia (Dorothy), Ralph Borgia (Mary), and James Borgia; brother-in- law, Kevin Farrell (Madeline); sister- in-law, Penny Farrell; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by parents Frank and Fannie Nardella Borgia and brothers Anthony and John Borgia.
He served in the U.S. Army and was employed for 28 years with the Scranton Police Department finishing his career as a City Detective.
Borgia was born and raised in the Bull’s Head section of Scranton and was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, in-law and friend.
The family would like to thank the staff at Grace Rehabilitation Center for their compassion and care. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, Oct. 31, at St. John of the Cross Catholic Church by Celebrant Rev. Michael A. Massaro.
