FELLSMERE — On Friday, Oct. 3, 2014, at approximately 7 p.m., the Fellsmere Police Department assisted the Indian River County M.A.C.E. unit during the service of a search warrant at 1008 Vernon St., in the Hall/Carter/James neighborhood in Fellsmere, according to an official release.
The residence itself and a separate, shed-like structure located on the property adjacent to the home were both searched.
The search warrant was obtained as a result of a drug investigation conducted by the agencies and was executed with the assistance of the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Response Team.
The following property was seized during the search warrant: 2012 Dodge Ram Charger, $629 of drug money, 41.2 grams of cocaine, 11.5 grams of marijuana, five grams of methamphetamine, 19 hydromorphone pills, 14 oxycodone pills, 97 grams of an unknown white powder, one loaded rifle, one loaded 9mm pistol, digital scales and plastic bags.
The majority of drug evidence was located in the shed along with both firearms, while other drug evidence was found in the Dodge Ram Charger.
Four people were arrested as a result of the search.
Kareem Coleman, 24, of Vero Beach faces charges of trafficking in cocaine, trafficking in methamphetamine, trafficking in a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, and possession of a controlled substance. Coleman was also arrested for an active warrant for Affray.
Christopher Rodriguez, 20, of Fellsmere, faces charges of trafficking in cocaine, trafficking in methamphetamine, trafficking in a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, and possession of a controlled substance
Heriberto Gamez, 20, of Fellsmere, faces charges of trafficking in cocaine, trafficking in methamphetamine, trafficking in a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance, possession of cocaine, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of ammunition by a convicted felon.
John Smith, 49, faces a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.
