INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — The community-wide, nondenominational Social Justice Film Series enters its ninth year on Sunday, Sept. 14, at 7 p.m., with “Take Back Your Power,” an award-winning documentary about surveillance technology and health risks.
The series is free and open to the public at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Vero Beach; no reservations or tickets are required but donations to cover costs are gratefully accepted.
Utility companies are replacing electricity, gas and water meters worldwide with new generation “smart” meters at an unprecedented rate. “Take Back Your Power” investigates the benefits and risks of this ubiquitous “smart” grid program, with insight from insiders, expert researchers, politicians, doctors and concerned communities.
The award-winning “Take Back Your Power” takes viewers on a journey to expose corruption and erosion of rights in the name of “smart” and “green.”
The film has been described as: “A transformational film…bravely tackling a very big subject,” “The issues unveiled in the film leave viewers rocked and inspired to see solutions,” “Life-changing, if not life-saving,” “A powerful indictment of WiFi and smart-meter technologies,” “A must-see for all humanity…before it is too late.”
Discussion following the film will be facilitated by Susan Keiffer, master herbalist and iridologist at Wildflower Herbal Counseling in Sebastian, and Stephanie Austin, co-founding member of the Florida Coalition for Health Against Smart Meters (CHASM). The Fair Trade Corner will be open one-half hour prior to the 90-minute film. The public is invited to this free screening; friends and neighbors are welcome.
