Raymond Scerbo, 81, Sebastian

Raymond Scerbo, 81, died Sept. 1, 2014, at Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach. Raymond was born in Jersey City, NJ, and lived in Sebastian for 20 years coming from Pembrooke Pines, Fla.

He was employed as a master mechanic with the Shiavone Construction Company, Secaucus, NJ, for 25 years before his retirement in 1988.

Raymond was a member of St. Sebastian Catholic Church, Sebastian. He was an avid fisherman and volunteered with the Sebastian Fishing Club’s Hook Kids on Fishing annual fishing tournament.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Elisa Scerbo; son, Anthony Scerbo; daughters, Elaine (Mark A.) Dileo and Elisa C. Scerbo, of Sebastian; sisters, Mary (Frank) Colonna and Frances Barbetta; grandsons, Christopher Scerbo and Mark Dileo, Jr.; granddaughters, Jamie (Douglas) Dileo-Johmann and Jessica Scerbo.

Raymond was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Scerbo.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice Foundation, 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, FL 32960 in memory of Mr. Raymond Scerbo.

Visitation will be from 1-3 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 7, at the Strunk Funeral Home, Sebastian.

A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m., on Sunday at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m., Monday, Sept. 8, at St. Sebastian Catholic Church, Sebastian. Interment will follow in Fountainhead Memorial Park, Palm Bay.
