INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — A 17-year-old awoke last week to an unknown male touching her leg in her bedroom, according to the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office.
The female victim reported seeing the man crouched beside her bed which caused her to scream, according to authorities. The man fled from the residence before the victim could get a look at his face.
The residence is located in the Grace Grove subdivision in the 4000 block of 41st Square, according to the Sheriff’s Office. The victim and her mother reported that the home was locked when they went to bed and no signs of forced entry were found. They also reported several other items missing from their residence over the past six months under suspicious circumstances.
Indian River County Sheriff’s Office deputies were on scene within one minute of the 9-1-1 call, but were unable to locate the suspect, according to the press release. Detectives are asking the public’s help in locating this suspect. He is described as a black male, twenty to thirty years old, approximately 5 feet 10 inches to 6 foot tall, with a medium build.
