INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — The Mardy Fish Children’s Foundation is helping support the Youth Guidance Summer Tennis Program and is thrilled to do so. When the Youth Guidance of Indian River County approached the Mardy Fish Children’s Foundation for financial assistance with their tennis program, it was an enthusiastic “YES” from MFCF.
The Youth Guidance Tennis program consists of a one-hour clinic with lunch provided on a Saturday morning once per month. Youth Guidance supplies racquets, snacks, lunch and water as well as covering the cost of the pro. Although in some cases the pros will offer to donate their time. In addition, Youth Guidance arranges transportation if necessary and coordinates with each hosting tennis facility.
This program fits the Mardy Fish Children’s Foundation’s mission perfectly.
“We are thrilled to be supporting not just another tennis program in Indian River County, but a program that keeps kids active and moving while in addition providing them with a healthy meal,” said Tom Fish, vice president for Mardy Fish Children’s Foundation. “Mardy’s 6 Healthy Habits (get sleep, drink water, eat healthy, exercise daily, make friends and brush and floss) are the focal points for not only our programs but also our mission. The Youth Guidance tennis program covers 4 of our 6 healthy habits. It is a great fit for us to support this.”
The Mardy Fish Children’s Foundation has made a contribution to Youth Guidance to cover costs for a teaching pros time as well as replenishing equipment for their summer tennis program.
Mardy Fish is a top-ranked U.S. tennis professional dedicated to supporting the youth in his hometown of Vero Beach.
