INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — A motorcyclist is in critical condition after a collision with a vehicle at the intersection of US 1 and 4th Street in Indian River County Sunday evening, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
The motorcyclist, identified as 20-year-old Trae Thomas Vaughn, of Ft. Pierce, was traveling south on US 1 when a vehicle headed north turned in front of him at 4th Street, which resulted in the crash.
Vaughn was transported to Lawnwood Regional for treatment. He was wearing a helmet, according to FHP.
The driver of the vehicle, a Honda Civic, has been identified as 64-year-old Richard Santo Genovese, of Vero Beach. Genovese sustained minor injuries and was treated at Indian River Medical Center, FHP said.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation and charges are pending the outcome of the investigation, according to FHP.
