INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Two people were arrested at the Quality Inn hotel on US 1 in Vero Beach early Wednesday morning after members of the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office MACE unit executed a search warrant on their hotel room.
William Watson, 34, and Calista Krasotkin, 30, face several drug-related charges stemming from the search.
Investigators recovered Alprazolam (Xanax) pills, a loaded syringe, spoons containing drug residue, a digital scale, a small amount of marijuana, and other drug paraphernalia, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
“With the recent human trafficking case and arrest of (Thomas) Solomon, we are keeping a keen eye on our hotels for illegal activity,” said Sheriff Deryl Loar in a prepared statement. “We will not tolerate this type of activity in Indian River County.”
Watson and Krasotkin both face felony charges of cocaine possession and alprazolam possession, and misdemeanor charges of possession of marijuana under 20 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Watson faces additional felony charges of introduction of contraband into a detention facility and interference with custody, along with a misdemeanor charge of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Upon booking at the county jail, Watson was searched, which revealed five small bags of cocaine and marijuana concealed in his sock, the Sheriff’s Office said. Watson is being held at the county jail in lieu of $26,000 bail.
Krasotkin faces two additional charges of violating her probation on a felony offense. According to the Sheriff’s Office, she was on probation outside of Indian River County for felony charges of drug possession and organized fraud less than $20,000.
She is being held at the county jail without bail.
