George Harvey Ruding Jr., 73, of Vero Beach, passed away on May 23, 2014.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years Linda Ruding; son, George “Tripp” Harvey Ruding, III (Rebecca); sister, Judy Polonofsky; and his beloved cats, Harley and Phoebie. He is also survived by his extended family of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Ruding was born in Neptune, N.J., and moved to Vero Beach in 1968 from the Jersey Shore. He was a graduate of Asbury Park High School and had attended Penn State University before graduating from Monmouth University.
He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the US Army.
Ruding began his career in New York City in 1966 working with Merrill Lynch and EF Hutton before joining Raymond James which he retired from as the office manager.
As an avid golfer, he had been a member of the Deal Country Club in New Jersey, John’s Island Golf Club, Vero Beach Country Club and Quail Valley. He was also a member of the First United Methodist Church in Vero Beach and the Bobby’s Lunch Group.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church, 1750 20th Street, Vero Beach, Florida 32960.
A Life Celebration for George will begin at 2 p.m., Tuesday, May 27, at the First United Methodist Church in Vero Beach.
