Ralph Allen Powell, 69, of Vero Beach, passed away on May 22, 2014.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Diane Powell; daughters, Michelle Stevens (Scotty) and Renee Dupuis; mother, Ruth Powell; brother, Dan Powell (Donna); sister, Jean Grenier; grandsons, Brad Stevens (Amanda), Jeffrey Stevens (Sasha), T.J. Dupuis, Cody Dupuis, and Austin Dupuis; granddaughters, Carlee Dupuis and Abbey Dupuis; and great-grandchildren, Emma, Taylor, Scotty and Carsen.
Powell was born in Vero Beach and has been a life time resident. He was a graduate of Vero Beach High School, Class of 1962. He earned an Associates Degree in Citrus Technology from Indian River Community College in Fort Pierce. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force having served during the Vietnam War from 1962-1968.
He worked as the Production Manager for Leroy Smith and Son Citrus, Vero Beach for 37 years before his retirement in 2002 as Vice President of the company.
He was a member of Central Assembly of God in Vero Beach. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Powell was the managing member of the “Buck Rub Hunt Club” Ridgeland, S.C., for over 30 years.
A Funeral Service will be held at 3 p.m., Friday May 30, at Central Assembly of God with Pastor Buddy Tipton officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Strunk Funeral Home and Crematory in Vero Beach. An online guest book is available at www.strunkfuneralhome.com.
