Betty Jane Mac Donald, 83, Vero Beach

Betty Jane Mac Donald, 83, of Vero Beach, passed away on Feb. 26, 2014.

She is survived by her daughters, Gay Mac Donald Clayton (John), Kim Mac Donald Lindemann (William), and Lisa Jane Barclay (Michael Preston); grandchildren, Benjamin Clayton, Brett Barclay (Caroline), and Russell Barclay (Nicole), Amanda Lindemann, and Kenneth Lindemann; and great-grandchildren, Samuel Barclay, and Waylon Barclay.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Kenneth W. Mac Donald and parents.

She was born on April 24, 1930 in Wyckoff, N.J., to Gertrude and Thomas W. Areson.

Mac Donald was an exceptional mother and grandmother, devoted wife and friend. She was both creative and endlessly positive in spirit. She found great joy in her extensive travels and as a volunteer in the Mammography department at Oak Hill Hospital.

Throughout her journey with pancreatic cancer, she demonstrated both grace and her boundless sense of humor.

Funeral Services will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, 6026 North US Highway 1, in Fort Pierce on Saturday, March 8 at 1 p.m. A memorial service will also be held in Spring Hill, Fla., at a future date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Oak Hill Hospital Volunteer Association Scholarship Fund, 11375 Cortez Blvd., Brooksville, FL 34613, Attn: Volunteer Office.
