Reginald Patota, 88, died Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014, at Indian River Medical Center, due to complications of metastatic melanoma.
He was born on Nov. 22, 1925, in Fall River, Mass.
He served in the United States Navy from 1943 to 1946.
After his service, he attended Bryant College and later Brown University, where he received a degree in English Literature and Expression.
Patota was an account group supervisor for the advertising agency Batten Barton Durstine and Osborne in New York and Boston.
Later, he worked for Curtis Publishing/Saturday Evening Post, for Diners Club/Signature Magazine and was advertising manager for CVS.
He had made his home in Vero Beach for the last 20 years.
For a number of years, he managed family-owned businesses and real estate in Fall River.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years Joan (Pinevia) Patota; stepsons Gifford (Christine) Plume, Geoffrey (Lisa) Plume, Michael (Judy) Plume; grandchildren Gifford, Jameson, Jennifer, and Juliette; two step granddaughters; two step grandsons; nine nieces and nephews and their children.
He was predeceased by his father, Peter Patota; mother, Helen Patota; and brother, David Patota.
Private services will be held at a later date.
