VERO BEACH — The Indian River County Chamber of Commerce will host the county’s legislative delegation at a lunch on Thursday, Dec. 5. The event will take place at the Courthouse Executive Center on 14th Ave. beginning at 12:30 p.m.
Scheduled to attend the chamber’s event are Senator Joe Negron, Senator Thad Altman, and Representative Debbie Mayfield.
Senator Negron serves as a Senator for the southeast portion of Indian River County. He was first elected to the Senate in 2009 and has been reelected since that time.
He previously served in the Florida House of Representatives from 2000 until 2006. Negron represents Senate District 32. Negron serves as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Appropriations and sits on the following Senate committees:

Select Committee on Indian River Lagoon and Lake Okeechobee Basin, Chair
Select Committee on Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, Chair
Joint Legislative Budget Commission, Alternating Chair
Senator Altman has served in Florida’s Senate since 2008 and previously held a seat in the Florida House of Representatives from 2003 until 2008. He represents Senate District 16, which includes the north and western portions of Indian River County. Among Altman’s Committee assignments are:

Representative Mayfield began serving in the House of Representatives in 2008 and has been subsequently re-elected. Mayfield serves all of Indian River County.
She is the Chair of the Indian River County Delegation and serves in the House as Chairman of Business & Professional Regulation Subcommittee. She also sits on the following House committees:
