VERO BEACH — The guild is proud to announce open auditions for “Another Opnin’ Another Show” and “It’s Too Darn Hot” in Baltimore.
Kiss Me Kate has the comedy to match Cole Porter’s wonderful score.
The romantic sparks are flying (” I Hate Men” ) in this Tony Award winning Broadway show within a show. And those men in tights singing “Brush up Your Shakespeare” who look like gangsters? They are gangsters.
This wonderful production is directed by Linda Hoffman, with Music Direction by John Toohey.
Auditions will be held at the Vero Beach Theatre Guild on Dec. 8 at 5:30 p.m. or 7 p.m. and also on Dec. 9 at 6:30 p.m.
Casting requirements:
15 males, various ages between 16-60, most sing and dance
11+ females, various ages of 16 & up, most sing and dance
Many fabulous dancers for featured dance numbers
Prepare 16-24 bars of music & bring background (music ONLY) CD or sheet music; pianist will be provided. This show has lots of dancing, so you will be taught a quick combo to see how you move. Some dancers are featured.
There will be cold readings from the script. Sample script sections are available at the guild or on the website at www.VeroBeachTheatreGuild.com.
Remember, much of the dialogue is Shakespearean.
Rehearsals start in January, with production dates of March 13-30.
