Wed., Oct. 9: Kayak Adventure on the Indian River Lagoon (IRL) from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Meet at the Ocean Discovery Center for a short ride via HBOI vans to our launch point on the Indian River Lagoon. Spend a morning paddling, enjoying the scenery and the biological diversity of this unique location with an experienced guide. Great opportunity to try a new sport while exploring the shoreline and the IRL’s spoil islands. There will be tandems and singles. $40 per person includes kayak, instruction, and naturalist guide. Sat., Oct. 19: Spoil Island Clean-Up and Celebration of Our Work on the Island!! Meet for transport at 8:30 a.m.; return by 12:30 p.m. It’s hard work, but a different kind of fun. Make a difference by joining Harbor Branch Friends and guests for a morning of maintenance on our spoil island in the Indian River Lagoon. Wed., Oct. 23: Get up and MOVE at Harbor Branch. Meet at 10 a.m. at the Ocean Discovery Center. Preview this new, health activity. Friends director Cindy Willson will lead a 60 minute WALKING tour sharing the latest news at HB and enjoying the 550 acre grounds along the Indian River Lagoon. Wildlife opportunities and scenic views abound. Support the expanding lifelong learning programs offered by FoHB with your $20 donation, which includes a $5 voucher for a healthy, delicious lunch at Harbor Branch’s Link Port Café. Do good work. Wed., Oct. 30: VIP Tour for FoHB Members. Reservations required. 10-11:30 a.m. Meet at the Ocean Discovery Center at 9:30 a.m. Explore special spots on campus via open air tram. On this tour, visit the South Florida photography exhibit of naturalist and Meet Your Neighbors photographer Paul Marcellini now on display at the Link Research Library.
