Glen L. Pierson, 82, of Vero Beach, died Sept. 5, 2013, at Indian River Medical Center.
He was born Sept. 4, 1931, in Minneapolis, Minn., and had been a resident of Vero Beach since 1971, coming from Philadelphia, Pa., where he had attended Temple University.
Pierson was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, retiring as a Lt. commander and was a member of The Military Officers Association of America.
He retired from AT&T as a supervisor with 33 years of service.
Pierson was active with the Boy Scouts of America for over 40 years and a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church, Vero Beach, for 42 years.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Helena; sons, Glen W. (Cristy) Pierson and Paul E. Pierson both of Coral Springs; daughter, Lauretta Anne Pierson of Bradenton; two sisters, Doris (Roger) Ebeling of Lindstrom, Minn., and Sharon Manneli of Feasterville, Pa.; and four grandchildren, Michael, Andrew “Drew”, James and Shelby Pierson.
A visitation will be held 1 to 3 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 8th at the Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home, Vero Beach, with a funeral service at Our Savior Lutheran Church to follow at 4 p.m.
