VERO BEACH — Can’t stand the humidity and heat? Get INTO the kitchen.
McKee Botanical Garden announces a new series of culinary classes taking place at the Garden Café on Sunday afternoons during the month of September.
The Summer Chef Series is comprised of a series of three classes, each one conducted by a different local chef. Classes are 90 minutes in length, and each will conclude with a sampling of the delicious cuisine that is featured.
“Our Summer Chef Series is a great way for residents to become better acquainted with the culinary talent we have right here in our community. It’s a chance to discover new tastes and techniques while also discovering the garden,” stated McKee Executive Director Christine Hobart.
The series kicks off Sept. 8 at 1 p.m. with ‘Paella and Sangria’ by Chef David Rodriguez of Cork and Tapas restaurant. Students will enjoy a cooking demonstration and tasting led by Chef Rodriguez.
The Summer Chef Series continues with:
‘Bread and Cheese Pairing’ with Chefs Mark Edmonds and Michael Glatz of Patisserie on Sept. 15 from 3-4:30 p.m.
‘Cooking with Beef Filet’ led by Chef Chad Darwent of Agape Café at Vista Plantation on Sept. 29 from 3-4:30 p.m.
Space is limited and preregistration with a credit card is required. Cost is $35 per class for McKee members/$40 non-members.
