Frank J. Cavanaugh, 84, died July 20, 2013, at VNA Hospice Hospice House in Vero Beach.
He was born in Decatur, Ill., and lived in Vero Beach for 21 years, coming from Boca Raton.
He worked for AT&T, retiring as an engineer in the traffic department in 1987.
He served a tour of duty with the Marine Corps in the United Nations in Israel and the Middle East.
He was honorably discharged after being recalled to serve two years in the Korean War.
He later joined the Marine Corps League.
He was of the Catholic faith and was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Dixie; daughter, Lyn Miller; brother, James Cavanaugh of Monticello, Ill.; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kim Trudnak.
A prayer service will be at 11 a.m. July 24 at the Cox Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home & Crematory in Vero Beach.
