INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — The Humane Society of Vero Beach and Indian River County is asking for the public’s help locating two pets that went missing after a Tuesday traffic accident on the Florida Turnpike.
A 3-year-old black and white female Labrador retriever/terrier mix named Molly and a 2-year-old female gray tabby cat named Chloe were travelling in Nancy Bryant’s car when she was involved in an accident near mile marker 193 near Yeehaw Junction.
Two other dogs also in Bryant’s vehicle were missing but have since been found.
“This tragedy is a reminder that animals can also be auto accident victims,” said Humane Society Director of Animal Protection Ilka Daniel. “Just like human passengers involved in accidents, animal passengers can be injured or disoriented. It’s our goal to quickly locate these animals so they can be reunited with Ms. Bryant.”
If you have either found or spotted these animals, please call the Humane Society at (772) 388-3331 ext. 28 or email [email protected]
