Ruth Marie Schuchart, 89, died April 28, 2013, at her home.
She was born in New York and lived in Vero Beach since 1987, coming from New York.
Before retirement, she was a teacher.
She attended St. Helen Catholic Church in Vero Beach.
She volunteered at the Humane Society of Indian River County, the Environmental Learning Center, and as a teaching assistant at St. Helen Catholic School.
Survivors include her niece, Fay Coffman.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Lloyd Schuchart.

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. May 6 at St. Helen Catholic Church in Vero Beach.
