VERO BEACH — The Love of Literacy Author Series is presented by Literacy Services of Indian River County, Inc. and will feature celebrity chef/author Curtis Aikens who:
*has been with the Food Network since its inception
*has clients including the United Nations cafeteria, the Plaza Hotel, and The U.S. Open Tennis Tournament
* appeared on the Oprah Winfrey show, Good Morning America, Entertainment Tonight, and other shows
*authored books such as Curtis Aikens’ Guide to the Harvest and Recipes to Weight Loss and Its Control
*loves working with fresh vegetables and fruits
*learned how to read in his mid-20’s and is now seeking a master’s degree
The Thirteenth Annual Love of Literacy Luncheon keynote speaker will be Chef Aikens.
There will be awards for outstanding volunteer/student.
This luncheon will be held on Friday, April 5, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Riomar Clubhouse, located at 2100 Club Dr. across from former lower St. Ed’s school.
The cost for the luncheon is $50.
There will also be Between the Wines Dinner with Chef Aiken on the evening of April 5 from 6-9 p.m. at Riomar Beach Clubhouse, located at 2426 Ocean Dr.
