Patrick A. Hoover Sr., 85, died March 7, 2013 at Consulate Healthcare in Vero Beach.
He was born in Cresson, Pa., and lived in Vero Beach for 32 years, coming from Lawrenceville, Pa.
He served in the Navy during World War II.
Prior to retirement, he was a flight safety mechanic.
He was a member of St. Helen Catholic Church in Vero Beach.
He was a former member of the American Legion in Vero Beach.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Elizabeth Hoover, of Vero Beach; sons, Patrick Hoover Jr., of Vero Beach, James Hoover, of Hellertown, Pa., and David Hoover, of Kintnerville, Pa.; daughters, Susan Hoover and Roberta Hoover, both of Port St. Lucie, Margaret Hoover, of Vero Beach, Constance Giannine, of Schwenksville, Pa., and Linda Cioffi, of Glenside, Pa.; eight grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his sons, Michael and Richard Hoover.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. March 15 at Aycock Funeral Home in Fort Pierce.
Inurnment with military honors will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Fort Pierce.
