VERO BEACH — Dogs For Life, Inc. (DFL) a 501(c)3 tax deductible, non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for people with disabilities by training assistance dogs for hearing and mobility, as well as veterans with the effects of PTSD, has received a generous donation to help fund the off-leash dog park until the end of 2013.
The DFL Board of Directors and dog park members are grateful to an anonymous donor who blessed the organization with funding to help keep the dog park operational another year.
In addition, it has allowed the organization to continue raising funds for the capital campaign to build an assistance dog training center for people with disabilities on the dog park site, located at 12th St. & 16th Ave.
In recent months, the board was concerned it would have to close and sell the park because membership fees were not covering the cost of operations. Meanwhile, the board was raising funds toward the capital campaign as well as general operational funds for the charity portion of our organization, the Assistance and Pet Assisted Therapy Dog Programs.
This anonymous donor’s generosity has assured the continued operation of the dog park and allowed DFL to devote extra efforts to the capital campaign for the training center.
