INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — The Indian River County Sheriff’s Office has officially released the identities of the three who were killed in the plane crash that occurred Thursday evening in the Ft. Drum Conservation Area.
Two killed in the crash are the grandsons of Buffalo Bill Cody – Barry Cody, 65, and Kit Cody, 67, both of Winter Haven, Fla. The other decedent is Robert Krieger, 65, of Polk City, Fla.
The Indian River County Sheriff’s Office has been working throughout the weekend with the U.S. Coast Guard, the NTSB, the Indian River County Fire Rescue Division, and the Medical Examiner’s Office in reference to the aircraft crash last week.
As of the time of this release, there has been no indication that a crime has occurred. As a result, the NTSB will be the primary investigating agency.
The three had been flying in a Cessna 310 when it lost contact with the FAA.
INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — According to the U.S. Coast Guard, three bodies are being recovered from a plane crash in western Indian River County.
Indian River County Fire Rescue confirmed earlier this morning that at least one person had died in the crash.
The U.S. Coast Guard sent an aircraft from its Clearwater, Fla., station to assist in getting emergency personnel into the crash site.
INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Indian River County Fire Rescue is now reporting that a plane did indeed crash off State Road 60 in the county Thursday, resulting in at least one confirmed death.
Asst. Fire Chief Brian Burkeen said authorities found a downed plane near the 20-mile bend, 18 miles west of Interstate 95 and two miles off of SR60.
He said crews are on the scene and are operating under the assumption that it is the same plane that they received a call about Thursday afternoon.
The U.S. Coast Guard has been enlisted to help drop personnel into the crash site as the plane is in a hard-to-access location.

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — What were initial reports of a possible plane crash on State Road 60 in the western part of Indian River County turned out to be an emergency landing in St. Lucie County.
Asst. Fire Chief Brian Burkeen said the plane was going to perform an emergency landing on the Florida Turnpike but the last known coordinates from the FAA put the plane in St. Lucie County.
Indian River County emergency crews have since been called off.
INDIAN RIVER COUNTY – Emergency personnel are responding to a call about a possible plane crash that occurred this afternoon near State Road 60.
Details on the possible crash, its location and those involved were not immediately known.
