Free dinner, parenting workshop for families Feb. 25

VERO BEACH — All parents and children are invited to attend the Parent Academy event entitled Promoting Positive Behavior in Children featuring Charlotte Cain Lajoie, Licensed Mental Health Counselor.

The free dinner and program, offered by Connected4Kids, will be held at Glendale Elementary School on Monday, Feb. 25, from 5:30–7:30 pm. Please RSVP the number of adults and children attending by phone at (772) 231-5799 or online at http://goo.gl/qGTpe.

This program is designed to provide tools for developing powerful and effective parenting including presentations on fostering love and respect, raising self confident and competent children, no more power struggles, how to handle misbehavior in public, how to get your kids to stop negative behaviors, learning the four steps to foster responsibility, and learning how your parenting style creates specific behavior patterns.

There will be appropriate break-out sessions for youth in grades K-2, 3 – 5, and 6-12.

The remaining parenting workshop offered by the Connected 4 Kids Coalition this year, Prevent Summer Brain Drain!, will be held at Pelican Island Elementary on Tuesday, Apr. 23.
