Swami Moksha Ram Nityananda, 75, died Jan. 30, 2013, at Palm Garden of Vero Beach.
He was born in the Bronx, N.Y., and lived at the Kashi Ashram in Roseland since 1978.
He was a student of Ma Jaya Sati Bhagavati since 1974.
He taught meditation classes and was an ambulance and cabdriver, carpenter and educator, having taught middle school children in Fort Pierce before joining the staff at the River School, where he taught fifth and sixth grades until 2004.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Janaki Ma Schiff, of Sebastian; children, Kali Summer Baird, Radhe Rahna Schiff and Shiva Michael Schiff; and one grandchild.
