Mary Ann Howenstine Harrod, 91, Vero Beach

Mary Ann Howenstine Harrod, 91, died Jan. 11, 2013, at The Arbors Assisted Living Facility at The Lakes at Pointe West in Vero Beach.

She was born in Indianapolis and lived in Vero Beach for 21 years, coming from Kewadin, Mich.

She taught school at Tudor Hall in Indianapolis.

She was a graduate of Butler University, Indianapolis.

She was a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Vero Beach, and the First Presbyterian Church Women’s Circle.

She was a member of Military Wives Club.

Survivors include her son, Robert L. Howenstine, of St. Simons Island, Ga.; daughter, Anne Lynch, of Lake Placid; stepson, Steve Harrod, of Kentwood, Mich.; stepdaughters, Cathy Draper, of Tucson, Ariz., Chris Simms, of Phoenix and Lee Broker, of Woodstock, Ill.; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; nine stepgrandchildren; and 13 stepgreat-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Visiting Nurse Association & Hospice Foundation, 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, FL 32960.

A memorial service will be on March 2 in Indianapolis.
